Despite not being as promising as the Wow! signal, the Weird! signal is still an interesting one.

It is interesting for 2 reasons:

• Of the known promising radio signals detected so far, the Weird! signal is the second one that repeated with time (i.e. it wasn’t a single pulse).
• It apparently came from the nearby star Ross 128, which at least has one potentially habitable exoplanet.

The scientists concluded that the signal was likely caused by one or more geostationary satellites.

However, the signal was characterized by strong dispersion-like features, something that still remains to be explained.
